Latest Updates from Our Project:

Updated copy of the Death of Dulgath ARC is being sent
over 8 years ago – Sat, Oct 10, 2015 at 03:06:54 PM

Hey all, Robin here (again). I'm still trying to figure out the digital distribution for Backer Kit and as such I've removed the ARC that was posted a few days ago and put out a new version. I "think" it is being sent to everyone, but if you don't find it then please let me know.

Also...there was an error in the old ebook - there were a number of paragraphs at the start of Chapter 8 (page 115) that were repeated on Page 117. This has been corrected.

I apologize for any inconvenience. I'm learning more everyday.

The editing is done!!

And the book has gone through it's layout process.  It came in at 448 pages.  There is still one more step, and that is proof reading...but in general that may mean a word or two changed here or there (if anything).

Michael have been working some marathon days, and I must admit it's taking a toll on me physically and mentally.  So here's what we are going to do.

  • Sent the files to the printer to get a proof made
  • Take the layout we sent the printer and head to the writing cabana
  • Read / check the file one last time in the relaxing surrounding of the mountains
  • If there are any changes, make them, and then roll the presses

I've posted the pdf version that I'm going to be reading in BackerKit and you can start reading it if you wish. Also, if you happen to find a mistake, please let us know as there is still time to get it fixed. As I said, the story won't change dramatically between this version and what you receive...a few commas maybe and a typo fixed here or there. We are basically in what we would term "ARC" (Advanced Reading Copy) stage.

So, if you are excited and want to start reading the book now - head on over to your BackerKit and get your copy.  I hope you enjoy it.

The final leg...
over 8 years ago – Tue, Sep 29, 2015 at 07:17:21 PM

Just wanted to update people on where we are.  The copy edits are back from Linda, Laura, and Paul (our three copy-editors) and Robin is working hard to get their changes consolidated to one file. She is trying to have print-ready files to the printer by October 5th.  Ambitious, but it should be possible.  If we do hit that date, then printed books will be finished Around November 5th.  It'll take a bit for them to travel from Wisconsin (where they are being printed) to Virginia (where the warehouse is), but once they arrive, we'll be able to pick up the ones for the Kickstarter and start shipping them out.

Once the book goes to print, we can make the ebook available. Shouldn't take Robin more than a day or so to convert it to the various ebook formats. Then we can finally work on the script for the Jester comic. It's been "in" from the artist for sometime, but we've just been too heads down on other things to get it pushed forward.

Oh, if you happen to have a Goodreads account, please consider adding the book to your shelf (4,416 people have so far!!). Also, there are a few lists The Death of Dulgath is on...and if you are "anxiously waiting" for it then please consider voting.  Here are is a list:

Will go into more detail in the future, but wanted to do a brief introduction on the bookshelves behind me.  So where goes:

Please check your name for the acknowledgements

Hey all, Robin here again. I went through all the survey data  (from Backer Kit)  and extracted all the names of people who wanted to appear in the book.  Here is a link that shows all the names.  If you asked to be included, please check the list and make sure your name appears as you would like to see it. If you originally wanted to be anonymous and now decided you wanted to be included...well this is your last chance to be added.

Thanks again all - it's getting pretty exciting around here.  Beta officially ended yesterday.
